The union, founded in 2020, is an organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights and interests of workers within the fishing and marine production sectors. The union is committed to a range of objectives:

  • Qualifying and training workers to develop their professional and trade union skills.
  • Enhancing occupational health and safety standards, to achieve a safe, risk-free work environment. Combating and criminalizing all forms of violence in the workplace.
  • Monitoring and documenting violations committed against workers by the occupation, and filing complaints with local, Arab and international human rights bodies, to prosecute the occupation for these violations.
  • Raising the awareness of cultural, social and union values amongst the workers and contributing to the community development process.
  • Promoting the values ​​of democracy, integrity, transparency, equality, and non-discrimination, consolidating the values ​​of belonging and love for the homeland and the Palestinian person, and struggling for the aims ​​of freedom, social justice, preservation of rights, and freedom of association, both for individuals and for the general public.

Through these objectives, the General Union of Workers in Fishing and Marine Production actively contributes to creating a fair and supportive environment for workers in these vital industries, emphasizing their rights, well-being, and collective strength.
